Do I really need physiotherapy
PT lower extremity, OT upper extremity?
I DON’T THINK SO, BRAH
I’ve been so slack with Tumblr thanks to my exams starting in less than two weeks. I’m open to any questions about exercise physiology, injuries, rehab etc! It’ll help me study.

Finally went to the physio to treat my shin splints from too much running. Apparently my muscle composition were what were causing the extra stress on my left shin. Treatment consisted of some massage and my first bout of electrical acupuncture and walking out of there with kinesio tape on my leg. So attractive right? Oh well, just having it for two days. Hope to recover soon, I miss running.
Looking good. #bandage #tape #support #physiotherapy #young #accident

Physio Check
Starting the process of taking care of your body, some thing so strong yet so fragile is a balancing act. Embarking on this journey into road racing one normally thinks of their physic and primarily his leg and lung strength. Though those are only two pieces to the giant puzzle of the engine we call our body. I am 100% guilty of this thought process. I have come to find out that overall strength is actually what we seek to achieve. Also that one of the most important factors to being competitive is core strength.
Through out my life I have not been the healthiest person. I blame my love of BMX for that, and of course myself for the injuries I helped inflict on myself. Although my father did tell me it is never to late to start taking care of your self. There is no time like the present, which brings us to these photographs. They are from when myself and other team members went and spent time with one of our sponsors Kiesl-Weisl Physiotherapy.
Wolfgang Kiesl is a member of our cycling club and actually did my first road race with me last summer. His sponsorship I think is one of the most important and I am happy to have him help me understand my body. On this day we all went in to have him give us a full body check to make sure we had no underlying problems that would hinder our goals. The unusual thing for me was not having him pull and tug on my different limbs in different ways checking flexibility and other things, but it was at the end of the check. My usual check ends with the nice physician telling me I am broken in one way or another but Wolfgang said I looked good. It caught me off guard. I responded with “ are you sure?” he laughed and asked why I thought he was wrong. After explaining my past he laughed again and informed me“ you are good, but you can always be better.” Next were his instructions of how to start improving my physic by increasing me flexibility and implementing a training plan suited for what I wish to achieve in cycling.
Deeper into the rabbit hole I go.
